Coversheet
Add your company logo, contact information, and project details to a submittal package.
A coversheet adds your company branding and the current project's details as the first page of a submittal package. Instead of creating a separate cover page or editing the finished PDF afterward, you add everything as part of building the package in Caident.
Set up your organization's coversheet
Before building your first coversheet, an owner or admin sets up your organization's default company information. These settings are shared across your organization, so everyone starts from the same company details instead of entering them for every package.
- Go to Settings (in the sidebar, under Materials Submittals).
- Under Coversheet, upload a company logo (PNG or JPG, up to 5 MB) and enter your Company name, Company address, and Company phone number.
- Select Save.
Select Preview Coversheet to see how your company information will appear. The preview uses placeholder project details to show the overall layout. Actual project information is entered when someone builds a package.
If you're not an owner or admin, this page is view-only. Ask an owner or admin on your team to make changes.
Add a coversheet to a package
- Search for and select the datasheets you want in your package, as usual.
- Select Build Package.
This opens a window where you can add and customize the coversheet before the package is generated.
Your organization's saved company details are prefilled automatically, so you don't have to re-enter them. From there, fill in the details for the current project:
- Project name
- Project address
- Project additional info: any other detail you want shown on the coversheet, such as a permit number or project phase.
Project name and Company name are required; everything else is optional.
The company details can also be adjusted here if this particular project needs something different. Changes made in this window apply only to the package you're currently building. Your organization's saved settings aren't affected.
If your organization has a logo set up, use Include the logo on this coversheet to choose whether it appears on this package. The logo itself can only be changed from Settings, by an owner or admin.
To leave the coversheet off this particular package, turn off Include a coversheet.
Build the package
Once everything looks right, select Build Package. Caident generates the package with your coversheet as the first page, followed by the datasheets you selected.
