The Workspace at a Glance
Once a project is open, every screen shares the same chrome: the menu bar on top, a page-specific nav bar under it, and the save-state chip on the right.
The menu bar

| Menu | Items |
|---|---|
| 🏠 | Back to Home (guarded by the unsaved-changes prompt). |
| File | New Project Ctrl+N · Open Project Ctrl+O · Open File Location · Save Ctrl+S · Save As… Ctrl+Shift+S · Recent (last six, with ages) · Import Calc · Export PDF Ctrl+E · Close Window |
| Edit | Undo Ctrl+Z · Redo Ctrl+Shift+Z |
| Pipe Tables | New · Import · View |
| Help | Contact Us (help@caident.co) · Version · Release Notes · Shortcuts (the in-app cheat sheet) |
| Settings | Settings… · Sign Out (or Unregister on license-key installs) |
The menu bar appears on every screen except Home and the sign-in screen.
The calc nav bar

On the calc editor, the nav bar jumps between the input sections — Water Supply, Nodes, Segments — plus Results, with the Calculate button on the right. On Results it becomes ← Calc, a live "Last run: N minutes ago" label, Re-run, and Export to PDF.
The save-state chip

| Chip | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | Brand-new project, nothing entered worth saving — closing never prompts. |
| Unsaved | There are changes; Ctrl+S saves. This is the only state that prompts on close. |
| Saved | Everything is on disk. |
The window title mirrors the state: it shows the project's file name (or "Imported 3rd Party Calculation: …" after an import), with a pencil ✎ appended while there are unsaved edits.
Themes
CaidentCalc ships in Midnight (the dark-blue default, used for this manual's screenshots) with Light, Dark, and Sandstone alternatives — Settings → Appearance (chapter 13). The choice persists per machine.
One deliberate quirk
F5 and Ctrl+R do nothing — a browser-style reload would silently discard the open project, so those keys are blocked by design. The app isn't frozen; it's protecting your work.
